Introduction to Gemini for Education - Virtual Training Session

Published on ‎10-05-2026 04:33 PM by

In this session, we’ll explore how this new era of generative technology can help handle the 'heavy lifting' of instructional design, allowing you to scale the best practices you already value. To do this, we’ll introduce you to your personal AI assistant for teaching and learning: Gemini for Education.

The Alaska Google Educator Group is partnering with ASTE on a free online PD series. We meet the second Wednesday of every month from 4:00 to 5:00 pm AKDT.

Each session focuses on one tool or task. You'll see it in action, try it yourself, and have time for questions with educators working in schools like yours.

Fall and winter schedule

  • October 14: Introduction to Gemini for Education
  • November 11: Introduction to Gemini Notebook
  • December 9: Introduction to Vibe Coding with Gemini
  • January 13: Create a Lesson Plan and Supporting Materials
  • February 10: Design Assessments that Capture Student Thinking

Participation in the series counts toward CEU credit. The learning continues at the ASTE 2027 conference, February 13 to 15 in Anchorage, where GEG sessions can earn additional credit.
